The Beautiful Essence of the Soul

The Internal Being

“Consciousness is related with the Being as light is related with Love.”
-Samael Aun Weor

The internal Being is not something that is easily described or discussed, yet our reason for existing is the Being.

One of the precepts of gnosis is that everyone has an internal Being who is God the Father and God the Mother; God the Cosmic Christ and God the infinite.

The Essence

The Being is connected to us through our essence, the spark of divinity, the seed of the soul within our hearts.

This essence of the soul can also be called consciousness, the intelligent principle, the awareness behind our attention. Within the essence is the memory of our connection to all beings, to God, and to all the invisible phenomenon of this world.

“Happiness resides not in possessions, and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul.”
-Democritus

The essence is true happiness in God, it is innocence, purity, kindness.

The beautiful essence is our spiritual compass, bringing deep inquietudes that guide us from the impermanence and suffering of this world toward the effulgence of God.

In our current state the essence is asleep and hidden within the conditions of the world of duality and materialism, but yearns to grow and be educated. The essence is unity but it is fractured into legions of different egos that prevent its education and edification. When the consciousness is awakened gradually through practices such as meditation, mindfulness, and dream yoga, we glimpse those dimensions of life that we were previously blind to.

The key is to remember that for the consciousness, the essence: daily life is spiritual life. Our dedication to awakening happens within our life as it is now, and not in any future fantasy of different circumstances.

Working with the Essence

All religions in their exoteric (outer, widespread) aspect educate the essence of people, to protect them from mistakes, from harm, and to remind them of the possibilities of redemption, peace and love that come from a connection to God.

Not every religion still teaches the esoteric (inner, hidden) aspect that truly transforms the essence into the cathedral of the soul. For this process there must be a deep yearning of the essence to work with mystical death, alchemical birth, and sacrifice for humanity.
